What causes the calcium shell—and how to reverse it
If you’ve been following this series, you’ve heard about the calcium shell—a mineral imbalance that can cause chronic fatigue, pain, numbness, and emotional withdrawal.
But let’s talk about the why.
Why does it form in the first place?
In my practice, the most common root causes are:
Chronic stress – Stress raises calcium as a coping mechanism. Over time, calcium gets pulled out of your bones and deposited into soft tissue, like a protective shield.
Copper toxicity – Elevated copper drives up calcium, especially in women. This is often tied to past or present birth control use, copper IUDs, or poor liver detox.
Calcium supplements – Especially when taken without the right cofactors like magnesium, vitamin K2, and boron.
Unprocessed trauma – This is huge. The calcium shell can be your body’s way of numbing pain you aren’t ready to feel.
Here’s the good news:
This isn’t permanent.
With HTMA testing, we can detect the calcium shell and start the process of gently dissolving it—so you can feel like you again.
When we rebalance your minerals, calcium can go back to your bones, where it belongs.
