Does Your Liver Need Some Love?

The liver has over 500 functions and in our toxic world it is easy to develop some degree of liver dysfunction. I am going to share 7 signs that you need liver support:

1. You have acne.
The skin is a reflection of the liver. If your liver is sluggish, then you start pushing toxins out through the skin. Acne is the most common issue, but it can also be rashes, eczema, itchy skin, etc.

2. You have hormonal imbalances.
Have you been told you have estrogen dominance? Or you are low in many of the main hormones? Then your liver needs some love! Our liver regulates our hormonal balance, and if it’s overloaded, it cannot do all of its jobs properly. The liver also makes bile, which is needed to clear out excess hormones.

3. You struggle with constipation.
The biggest reason is due to a sluggish liver. The liver makes bile and a healthy liver should make about a quart a day. Bile is part of the process that takes toxins out of the body effectively. No bile = poor bowel movements.

4. You have issues gaining or losing weight.
A sluggish liver can lead to an inability to gain or lose weight. Most people are leaning on the overweight side these days. This is because the liver can’t process toxins, excess hormones, etc. and then they get stored in our fat. Our bodies hold onto it until we’re strong enough to release and eliminate it.

5. You don't sleep well.
The liver works hardest at night. If it’s stressed out and overloaded, sleep can be a struggle. Waking around 2-4am is when the liver is most active, so waking up at this time is a cry from the liver for help. Night sweats, having anxiety right before bed, waking up constantly, waking with intense hunger or low blood sugar, or waking with a racing mind are also signs of a stressed liver.

6. You are dealing with a chronic health issue.
If you have a chronic illness of any kind, then you will need to be supporting your liver. Whether it is an infection, such as Lyme, hypothyroidism, fibromyalgia, or autoimmune illnesses, then you need to be sure you are loving your liver.

7. You have thyroid problems.
The thyroid hormone T4 gets converted to T3 in the liver. If the liver is sluggish, then it is hard for this conversion to take place.

I always recommend working on liver healing with my clients as most people have pretty sluggish livers these days! However, I do NOT recommend harsh cleanses. The liver needs LOVE not more stress.

One of the BEST liver helpers is actually liver itself. Beef liver is one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet, but most people cannot stand the thought of eating it. The next best option is beef liver in pill or powder! Desiccated Beef Liver (I prefer capsule form, the powder has a very strong taste).

My preferred brand is Perfect Desiccated Liver capsules because of the the quality: liver from grassfed cattle and certified glyphosate free. Use my LINK and STACK my HEALTHWEALTH Code to Save An Additional 10% off your order, including their volume discounts.

A common concern I hear – isn’t liver toxic? No, it’s not. The liver filters toxins but doesn’t store them. Most of the toxins found in animals is in their fat and joints, just like in humans.

If you haven't incorporated liver into your diet, but suffer from any of the signs listed above, I highly recommend incorporating this nutrient dense food into your diet. Capsules are one very easy way to get liver daily.

Liver healing is a big part of my nutritional therapy program. The hair tissue mineral analysis will help to determine the state of your liver and how much support you need. Check out more information on my support program HERE.
