Did all the Valentine’s Day chocolates, truffles, and treats leave you with cravings? You’re not alone! Even after the holiday, the temptation for sweets can stick around—but the good news is, you can satisfy your chocolate cravings without the processed sugars and additives.
Many store-bought chocolates contain high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors, and preservatives like TBHQ (linked to inflammation and oxidative stress). But instead of giving up chocolate, why not try a delicious and healthier homemade version?
This simple chocolate recipe uses raw cacao, which is packed with antioxidants called polyphenols that support:
Reduced inflammation
Improved cognitive function
Heart health
Easy Homemade Chocolate Recipe
Ingredients:
½ cup raw honey
½ cup raw cacao powder (or sub with a chocolate protein powder* for a protein punch!)
1 cup melted coconut oil
4 Tbsp almond butter (optional)
½ tsp vanilla extract
Small pinch of sea salt
Directions:
Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth.
Pour into ice cube trays or fun-shaped food molds.
Optional: Top with unsweetened coconut, nuts, or sea salt.
Freeze for about an hour and enjoy!
